Perhaps you may also want to look into used Audi Q5s...they were actually really nice between 2011-2018 and the SQ5 blows the N55 BMW X3 out the water. Add Porsche Macan to the list too. Last edited by frisbeeguy; 03-15-2023 at 07:28 PM.. |

Also in the Golf R, S3, almost all of Audi's 2.0T cars etc... all variants on the EA888 Having said that, this engine is typically well reviewed and can make some really good power/decently reliable. |

If we hadn’t gotten a smokin’ deal on an X3, the Q5 with 2.0T was very high on our list. And knowing what I now know about the N20, the X3/N20 wouldn’t even be in the running with a Q5/EA888. But I am smitten with the X3/N55! -Mike |

Macan is the best pick if you want car-like handling. Reliability/ease of repairs is also the best. The Audi Q5 and BMW X3 with the B48 are very close on specs...Audi just a tad bit more horsepower (for certain years) and a gas tank that can hold about 1 more gallon...lol. If deciding between those 2, test drives matter a lot....can't go wrong with either. Reliability/Repair ease is the same for both the Audi and the BMW.
