my experience is limited but i would do the following

- check tyre pressures - mine was +5 bar over on each tyre
- check paintwork etc, i found some sticky residue just beneath the xline pack on the window...
- check folding mirrors do work
- check bootlid switch has a blanking plate (i totally missed the hole in the lower right dash!)

setup wise - only 1 - angel lights ON!

enjoy mate - i'm sure you will...

- check bootlid switch has a blanking plate - Done, I have a button for the auto boot lid, but there was a hole for the OBD port, was told they put the cover on once the prep is completed.

Cheers dude.

Check the paintwork very carefully, and check again when you get home and you're less excited

Take your option list printed out even if you know what you ordered

Check interior trim for dings etc

Check sunroof works if you have one and folding mirrors, all door locks and the boot opening

Good luck

Looks fantastic. I've seen a few AWs now in the flesh and they look great and the 309s really set this one off. Well worth the wait i say

Had the caps on previous X5 and X6, hope you've not cursed them now

Makes it worth working in crappy places to come back to something good (apart from the missus!)

Nice looker. Glad I went for the sport seats to go with the brushed trim. They really lift the interior.

How do you find the sports wheel. Is it the same as a MSport, wasn't sure when I tried it.

How is the mpg going?

The sports wheel has a chunky feel to it, think it is the same as a MSport without the badge.
Averaged 42 MPG over 467 miles, done in sport mode, very pleased with that.

Mine is broken as I have only averaged 35.1mpg over 7000 miles (SE, 18" with RFT's and rarely using aircon )

Although I do drive it like my old 5 series rather than a family wagon

There are other differences. There's a great description in this thread...

I'm on 34mpg average. The wife's short local trips in it don't help

Not quite 50mpg

I used to get early/mid 40's in my E60 520d manual and was hoping for closer to 40 but 35 isnt too bad - I reckon the 30d would only give away a couple of mpg versus my 20d

I think you're right about the 30d which is annoying as less mpg is one of my reasons for not regretting waiting and paying more for the 30d. Maybe next time!
