Question Question to owners of X3 build after AUG/2012

Please, write back whether you have these buffers (1 & 2) installed in your car and what manufacture month you have? Judging by ETK after September they stopped installing them, but I want make sure.

P.S. Bonus question: what is the purpose of the connector hidden under the 3rd circle?

I have 2013, June '12 build. The car has bumpers 1 & 2 and item #3. The third item has a cap that covers a bolt. It must be a positive terminal of some kind, given the red indicator. I have no idea what it is used for.

I believe it may be for connecting jump leads for starting with a dodgy battery.

Aug Build does come with 1 and 2. It is not for connect leads because the red plastic cover is the positive and the negative is the bolt right above the circle numbered one

The red terminal is for connecting the positive jump lead and comes off the positive terminal of the battery and the other terminal is to negative which is the cars bodywork. It's on page 245 of the manual!!

I have a September 2012 build and it has the "bumpers". Regarding circle 3, just an educated guess is that it is a ground wire for some left side electronics box.

I think you are looking at the picture wrong. In the above picture the positive jump post (that you are referring to above) is below the circle 3 in question.

Mine is also an October 2012 build. It also has the rubber stops and described. 1 1 & 2.
The 3rd point, i don't know. As the battery positive terminal is below the #3 circle you showed.

Because of your post, I checked my car. It was missing the bumper on the passenger side, but there was a mark on the hood, so I know it was there at one time. Last year, when closing my hood, I heard a loud sound like cracking plastic. I couldn't find anything, so didn't realize what the sound was until now. Is it possible that they were installed but also broke and fell out like mine?
