Is this a good deal on a 2014 X3??

Hello,

Wife and I are looking into upgrading our 2008 X3 M Sport to a 2014 X3 Msport. I love the LCI but wife has always wanted a dark red X and they got rid of Vermillion Red for the LCI so I figured it was a good time to look for a Vermillion Red pre lci.
The one we found currently is a :
2014 X3 28i
Vermillion Red
Oyster Leather
M sport
20" Style 336 wheels
Drivers assistance package
Premium Package
Technology Package
Heated Front seats

MSRP: $52,075.00

Current offer of : $45,250.00

That's pretty much exactly what I paid after haggling and haggling...but mine isn't an Msport. The MSRP was 52K with all the add ons. Personally, I think its a good deal. It came out to about $48,000 with taxes. You might be able to squeeze them a little more if you haven't tried yet since its an older model now...I bought mine last year.

Check Edmunds etc. to see if there any manufacturer incentives for 2014 (essentially last years) models. Its been my experience that the incentives BMW (or Lexus etc.) offer to the dealer are frequently passed directly on to the buyer. My Z3 was sold at $2k under invoice (I purchased it new with 54 miles on it a few months after production stopped and the factory was retooling for Z4) and I got a new Lexus for $4K under invoice under similar circumstances.

BTW, my X3 is vermillion red with black leather and wood trim. I love it, my wife hates it (she hates black in cars no matter what) but this combination is exactly what I will want again when I replace it. I was dissappointed they discontinued vermillion red as I do not like at all the bright red they now have. I also think the greys, whites, and blacks they offer now are boring so I hope they bring back vermillion red when I am ready to replace my X3 in a year or two. Once, when at the Spartanburg factory a number of years ago, while touring the paint shop, they told a story about a Saudi oil Sheik that had a fleet of BMWs and wanted all of them the same color. He ordered a new X5 and insisted it match the color of his fleet but they no longer offered that color. The BMW rep said he offered to pay BMW to custom paint the car and they did but he would not say what it cost to do so. So, if you really want vermillion red, you can get it but my guess is that it will cost you much more than the rest of the car.

I am a new here and this is my first post. I will borrow this thread a little bit and ask a similar question

I bought 2013 BMW X3 35i xDrive M-sport about 2 weeks ago. Car was used and it was registered first time exactly one year ago and it had 16500 miles on it. It was BMW certified vehicle so warranty was extended by 2 years and condition of the vehicle was almost like a new. MSRP was ~$58600 (when it was new).

I paid $41600. Was that a good deal or not? What do you think?

It's a used car with 16500 miles with CPO. $41600 with Tax? or without? It seems a reasonable deal.

I got my lease couple week ago too. Brand new 2014 X3 3.5I M. MSRP $56K. Final cap cost is 46k. 10k below invoice.

$41600 was before taxes and fees. How did you get $10k off from invoice?

Dealer had it on sale for 51k on their website, and I was sending emails between two dealerships asking both of them to match each other's price. The other dealership has a similar car (MSRP 57K). At the end the first dealership offers me 46K cap cost which is 10k below invoice(MSRP 56K). I did all that at home, just went to the dealership and spent less than 1 hr to finish all the paperwork.

Awesome deal!
I am looking at a similar one but xDrive28i one Red exterior, Beige interior, Premium, M-Sport, Dynamic Handling PKg(Very Rare), Premium Sound, MSRP $54,500 i believe. Dealer selling it for $39,985 before taxes/fees but only 25 months left of warranty so its not CPO.

That is what I thought too For example KBB says that good purchase price would have been ~$46000.
