What's this crap about CARB & EPA on the 2013?

OK, maybe I understand the N20 cars but the 35i should not be delayed because of the CARB/EPA right? The only real difference between the 12 and 13 35i is the eco pro button and the start/stop technology.

BMW US site has updated the EPA ratings, 2013 28i 25mpg hwy and 2013 35i 26mpg. I am surprised with the 28i number though, was expecting a bit better.

those are NOT the MY13 figures, they are the old 2012 ratings for MPG, the correct numbers are 21 City and 28 Highway. Check here for comparisons with other models:

Garage List
2013 Mercedes Benz ...  [0.00]
2012 X3  [0.00]
On a 210 mile trip, I averaged 26.4 MPG with my 2102 2.8.
I'm glad that I did not wait to purchase the 2013 trubo 4 which I originally was going to do for the better expected mileage..

I recently read that the mileage figures for the new 3 series with the N20 engine have also been reduced

that's better than my 6mt 328i which is EPA rated at 18/28. I often get 31 on a smooth high-way trip. My car is about 600 lbs lighter than a x3 28i. this is great gas mileage for the n20/8at combo in the x3. it will easily nail over 30 mpg on low-traffic highway drives.
