Yes I bought one it is excellent for dirty & wet cargo the box is also handy for small items that would otherwise have rolled around.

Is it comparable to a weathertech product? How does that flap piece function? And how is the quality?

Also have it and it is awesome. Thinner than weathertech but provides great coverage and saves weight. We have never once unfurled the little protective mat. I *think* it is welded to the bottom of the cover and it just flips out when you need it to.

Another benefit to this mat versus others at least in my mind is that the sidewalls are only an inch or so high, where as the other BMW mat has like a 6" lip that could cause problems when you fold the 2nd row down which would leave a big tall lip in the way. This mat is so flexi that it causes no problems folding the 2nd row down and putting large objects that take up the entire rear.

The box that comes with the kit is excellent as well. Not only will it hold a decent amount of liquid it has a pattern than sits in the mat and prevents any kind of slipping.

Many thanks to you ALL for the feedback. That's one more reason this forum is such a great, just-in-time resource.

I'll be picking up my Cargo Mat tomorrow at my local BMW dealer!!!

It's too bad that flap doesn't go the other way to protect the seat backs when folded flat.

I think I should pick that up too. Let me know if the bike slides around at all. I just use a heavy blanket now which prevents the bike from sliding around, which is my only concern if that thing is made from the same material as the Weathertech mats.

Good call on flipping the flip out mat backwards to cover the rear seats. That would have probably been more useful for us than flipping it out forward.

You can find the mat here for $85:

I have ordered their F25 oil change kit and they have quick shipping.

**on edit - via the link above it looks like ECS has it a couple bucks cheaper. Not sure how S&H plays out but worth taking into account.

I chose the Weathertech because its specifications allow for use of the cargo tie-down D rings but the printed spec is misleading because it permits only three positions on each track, which are front, rear, and about 1/3 back from the front. The sidewalls are not too high to roll the mat up if necessary and it protects well.

It does not protect the bumper step during loading and unloading but I am working on that with XPel. They already offer their thin, clear, flexible material in approximately the right size for the rear bumper. They are waiting for me to give them a template to make a step cover from their black, thicker, stiffer stock that must be the exactly correct size in order to fit properly.

I found an item on eBay and it has worked well for me so far. They call it a scuff protector.

I bought the cargo liner from Weathertech as well. Did you cut into the mat to allow for the tie down hooks? The image here is not my exact setup, just a copy from their website. There were no precut slots for the adjustable tie down rings.

You have to make the cuts yourself but they are clearly marked by squares with raised borders which prevent any water present from leaking off the mat onto the cargo area floor. You should find six of them but depending on your usage, you probably want to cut only four of the six. Be sure to cut so that the raised borders remain around all four sides.
