Is it any fun in the sand???
Will be taking a vaca to the Outter Banks this summer. Has anyone taken their X3 on the beach? 20 years ago I took my Cherokee out on those sands, but that had locking full time 4wd.
Would ya take the X3 out on the beach for fun....? |

Great question. I wouldn't. However, this is probably because I would regret doing so down the line whrn it comes time to replace any suspension components that would have otherwise been fine. Unless our X3 suspension is very rigid and can withstand such abuse? Then again, this is coming from a guy that is over cautious w/ all bumps, potholes, etc. in the road not because I have to, or because the suspension is bad, but because I don't want to damage anything.

Go for it, just make sure you drop air pressure to 8 psi.. Car and suspension will be fine, don't listen to these guys, it's no more abuse than driving on salty roads.. Sand will abuse your transmission and drive train if you don't drop tire pressure, very important!!!
