X3 Break-in Attempt

Well, it took not all of 1 week for some low-life to try to break into my new X3.

Thankfully there is no damage to the paint, but the Door Window Guide is a big piece that wraps around the whole window area.

The part number is: 51357220507

My dealer wants 86$ for it.

Is this something that I can replace myself if I'm mechanically inclined and willing to buy a few specialized tools? Alternatively, do you think this is something that can be re-molded into shape with a heat-gun?

Thanks.

If I was in your position, I would have opted for spending $86 for getting the professional job done by dealer.

I didn't think you could get out of the dealership for under 100 bucks. I would do it.

$86 is for the part alone. They said it'd be over $400 with labor...

My deductible is $500. Damaging the paint by overheating is what I'm worried about. I think I'll just have to bite the bullet and get this done by the dealership. Thanks for all of your advice. I'll let you all know how much it ends up costing me.
