Is this the right price ? Plus - X3 security system

Hi All,

Looking into a dealer Demo with 7k miles it- . 2011 -X3- 35 i

Dealer is asking for $43k

Leather, Convenience package, Cold weather( front & back- unlike2012 models), 19" wheels, roof rails, park distance control,Xenons.

I really liked the drive. I mean, the transmission seems really smooth and settled unlike the new 2012 models I tried out on the same lot - jerky - needs to be trained or adaptive

I didn't like the silver exterior & sienna wood trim. Just wanted black outside + silver trim .

But, can't really justify $5kextra for a newer 2012.

===================

What kind of security system you can get with a X3? BMW.com specs sheet says "security system". What I saw was just a standard remote lock - No intrusion detection of any kind!.

Anti-theft alarm system is a standard feature on the 35i. Has the coded ignition thing-a-ma-jing, interior motion sensor, glass break sensor, and tilt sensor. Dunno what kind of "intrusion detection" you're looking to see on the remote. It's a pretty simple implementation -- lock the door and it's on.

7k miles on a demo? That sounds more like a owner/owner-spouse car vice a demo.

2012 model offers the heated rear seats as part of the "Cold Weather Package II"

If the 5k makes a big difference for you, do what you need to do. If you just think you're saving 5k, recommend giving some thought to how that car has likely been driven during that first 7k. How hard it accelerated in it's first 10 miles, nowhere close to completing the break-in period. Might be all good, probably is, but might not be. Would watch it closely during the warranty period.
