BMW thinks we have wider parking slots in US, so we dont need mirror folding feature using fob or there is something hidden in the Settings.

It's probably so you don't trap someone's hand in there. Same reason you can't be trusted with the auto closing tailgate. Afraid of litigation. Expect UK to follow suit within a few years. We usually do: McDonald's, shopping malls, have you had an accident at work recently that wasn't your fault....

my old 3 series would do that. if you held down your finger on the comfort access strip, the mirrors would fold in and the windows and sunroof would close (if they were open). i miss that feature.

When you open sunroof - at first it stops not fully aligned with the rear glass, but if you move sunroof control back once again - it slides all the way back.

Are you serious that BMW designed it as a place to hold fuel cap ?

Yes. My CA pointed it out at delivery. It's in the manual too.

It doesn't have to be new... just undiscovered features of our new X3's.

A person new to the brand may have not known about it.

+1

It would close all the windows and sunroof, too.

I still giggle a little watching other cars shrink in the mirror, some not caring a lick, but some wondering why that little SUV got away from them.

Even more than the arrows, you get a diagram of the upcoming intersection that's freakishly accurate, the turn arrows, street name, and a decreasing bar indicating distance remaining during final approach. Nahoa likes it.

Though perhaps not the way you're looking for it to be, you can return the display to date/time (or whatever other screen you prefer) by pressing the button at the end of the turn signal stalk. I think it sticks there until the next navigation message is issued, but haven't tested it specifically.

Yes, stays until you click the button again to advance or the next Navi instruction comes along.

For those with paddle shifters, I recently discovered that even in non-sport modes, depressing the paddle shifters will put the car in manual mode and then automatically revert to auto mode once no gear changes are selected for a few seconds... I find this particularly useful when wanting to engine break or even for just gunning it for a few secs and wanting to keep both hands on the wheel.

I thought I noticed the dipping passenger mirror when I was leaving the dealership, but I don't think I've seen it do it again and I can't find a setting for it in the iDrive menu.
