Brand new X3 - convert to Xenon's/LED's

Hey All,

So ended up with an X3, however, for some reason I thought the xenons and the blue halo/lights come standard (didnt know much about the lighting package) - yes, I know - silly me.

Anyway, is there a way to get the white/blue xenon halos and lights on this? I talked to dealer and they want to charge $2500 for the conversion - yeah right!!!

Can you guys advice on best way (and reasonable) way to do this?

Any advice is much appreciated.

Unfortunately retrofit is going to be very expensive. Several members on this board has asked this question before in the past. If you truly want it, may be easier/cheaper to just sell the car and buy one with that option.

I think the dealer is actually underestimating the cost at $2500, it will cost about that much just for the parts. Try looking for aftermarket light assemblies, it will not look as nice but probably much cheaper.

...and unfortunately with the LCI there probably isn't any aftermarket available yet. It usually takes a couple years. I had an F30 so spent a lot of time over on their forum witnessing the same, the first aftermarkets available were around $1500, with retrofit close to $3k.

you may be lucky to find headlights on ebay with wear or some type of damage like broken tab or repair tab for few hundred dollars, you will need ballast, module and bulb..
then it will need coding so the lights work properly.

Not worth it. I looked at retrofits for a 128i for my mom and the cost was staggering. I don't know if the halogens have adaptive lights but that may add to the cost. Honestly you are better off selling the car or trading to get the xenon if they are that important.

Why can't the dealership install/program them?

it will cost you more then lighting package as if you were to order a new x3.

unless you have the money, order everything new with bmw parts dept.

only x3 with standard xenon is 35i model, 28i models require lighting package
