I have the Dunlop WinterSport 3D tires on my 335i xDrive. They have been decent. Not as much traction as Michelin X-Ice we had on my wife's SUV but overall I'm happy with them. It's tough to find RFT models so that was a big deciding factor. For our X3 we installed Pirelli Sottozero RFT but there hasn't been enough snow to give a good review yet (http://www.pirelli.com/tyres/en-ww/c...ero3#/overview)

Once again, RFT was the main reason. I'd rather get an X-Ice but need RFT.

They're great. Most will recommend Blizzak and Nokian (I've run both), but if you need RFT (from TireRack... which undeniably convenient) and don't travel exclusively on ice/snow, these have more than adequate traction in winter situations without being noisy and mushy on dry/wet/slightly warmer roads. They're barely louder than my OE P-Zero summer tires with good on-center feel.

For context, those pics are of a >300 mile trip in one of 2015's biggest blizzards... (VT to NYC). I was comfortably able to travel at 60mph in 2-4" of snow, had ample purchase to get through >12" berms at low speeds and had no issues with hydroplaning in slush (as I approached NYC).
