Not sure about spraying car wax, but my Dad smoked in the house and we never got the smell out of the walls and the insides of the sofa.

Well, at least for me that wasn't my point. It was the litter bit, hitting me with butts discarded out the window, and confusion about why one would enjoy smoking but want to avoid the smell.

My X3 is almost a year old and, honestly, it still smells like a new car on the inside. Since I keep it spotless, it's like getting in a brand new car every time I drive it.

I'm so glad I don't smoke.

How did you manage retaining the original leather smell?

You sound like me. When I took my X in today for service, the SA actually commented and said "If I could give out an award for the cleanest vehicle I've ever seen come through here, you would get it". Mine looks like it just came off the showroom floor inside and out. It's a hobby keeping it perfect

Smoking ruins the interiors of cars

From what I've read, smoking ruins the interiors of a lot more things than just cars...

How do you keep the front clean? ....you must not drive much because the front end and windshield on the x3 are a magnet for bugs and crap.

I don't know why it still has the new car smell (other than not smoking, of course). It is my second vehicle, so I've only put 9700 miles on it in the last year, but you'd think that time alone would have done away with the new car smell. Happy it hasn't, though.

I can't speak for Want the Thrill, but I don't find that the X3 is more of a bug killer than any other vehicle. My technique is the same for both my cars here in Bugsville Nebraska: Adam's Waterless Wash and an Adam's Waffle Towel every night for the front end, and Adam's Glass Cleaner and a microfiber towel for the windshield. Takes only a few minutes, but if you don't keep up with it, after a few days the car will be filthy with bugs.

Before using Zaino, I used to wash my X3 every week to keep it ultra clean. But these days I wash it just once a month but dust it every day. I notice all the dust slides to corners and so easy to remove with a soft California duster.

I wash it 2-3 times a week and wipe it down with Zaino glossing spray in between. Every time I pull in the garage, I go over the front end to remove the bugs. I agree with you that the X3 is a bug magnet for the front end and windshield. Def. worse than any other vehicle I've owned.
