I think I am going mad

I have had my X3 for just about 6 weeks now and I am still in that "what's that noise?" mode for every single tinkling, vibration or creaking sound.

Routine goes something like this.

Is the noise normal? Should it be doing it? Where is it coming from? Ooh she looks nice in that mini cooper. Is it still doing it?

I know every car will make sone noise when it flexes as you ride uneven surfaces etc. But I am always like this with a new car !

Please. Somebody reassure me it isn't just me. I am sure there must be a medical term for it (other than OCD!).

Yup you're going insane....and that "chick" in the mini was a guy with very long hair.

Try not to think too much about it, if you can't just step on the gas pedal and drown out the tinks and vibrations with the roaring of your engine.

Drive it very quickly round a corner and if it falls over, disintegrates or kills you to death - take it back. Otherwise keep on Truckin' you crazy mother trucker!

So what's with this worry? Kind of takes the fun out of the new car I suppose. Despite the occasional problems noted on the boards I tend to assume the best regarding my new car until it shows me otherwise. Don't let the conversation here suggest new worries. I have a friend who talks about his "post purchase depression" the more he evaluates prior to the purchase to ensure a good decision the more depressed and worried afterward. Ugh - but not so rare I suppose.
