I actually feel the opposite. I think the bottom black section makes the car seem smaller since it gives contrast with other colors on the car. I haven't seen a M-sport in person but have seen a black & a white X3 next to each other and the black X3 looked a bit bigger. For the most part I like the plastic, it seems like good, sturdy plastic and feels nice to the touch.
