Pulled the trigger! - M40i
So after a good 3 hours of negotiations, I pulled the trigger on the M40i.
My car will be built after April 1st to be delivered in May, so it makes it a MY 2017 (cutoff date is April 1st) Here is my build:
Since this is my first BMW vehicle (had a BMW motorcycle), I had my turn signals removed. No need for that. Can't wait! EDIT: BTW, for MY17, I am told there is no 35i anymore, just 28i and M40i. Last edited by elimpfor; 03-10-2016 at 07:33 PM.. |

So, I'm thinking on doing the same! Can I ask what you paid? Or what they would throw in, if anything. After driving many many cars, it's just fun to drive!
Congratulations! |

Not sure it would help to give out the Canadian price, even the packages are different so it would be hard to compare. And the (low) dollar exchange rate would make it seem cheaper than it actually is.
That being said, I did get a military discount as well as the 2% off MSRP BMWNA Club discount and a small dealer discount which brings it to MSRP -4% and I got 10% off the extended warranty. Trade in was fair so I was happy overall. |

Base warranty here is 4yrs/80000, we can get it extended to 7yrs and 160000 or 200000 km. Depending on how much extension you want, they quote you a price.

That's cool, unfortunately we don't have it the same way in Switzerland. We have service plus, which is made of:
maintenance 100'000km or 10 years. warranty 100'000km or 3 years. I wouldn't mind to have 150'000km limit in place of 100'000km, which i reach in 2 years... |

Canadian here too (currently living Down Under) but will be back in Ottawa this summer. We were set on a '16 GT 335i but have now changed our minds and will be ordering an X4 M40i in the next few weeks (I don't need it until July). Am a bit disappointed that we can't get a heated steering wheel along with the Driver Assistance stuff but it is what it is I guess. I did want a pano roof too but will gladly trade that for all the goodies that the M40i offers.
Interested in what other cold weather folks will do as far as dedicated wheels and snows for winter. My preference would be for Hakkepellitas if I can get some to fit. |

JazzGMster,
ggalanis and myself went for some Hakkapeliittas in 18". I'm still shopping for wheels, but will probably have found something next week. I was actually also interested in the 3 GT, but the 340i version is coming late this summer which was a bit late for me and I really fell in love with the X4 M40i after the test drive. On that note, i kinda happy they made sth like this i guess, its not way too expensive, still within some ppl's budget but got some performance in em... They understand that not everyone can afford an M you know lol, so this is their way of pulling the base models and full on M models closer.

Thanks so much guys for the info about tires and wheels (ggalanis- they're really nice. Thanks for the pics).
Assume you went square setup? I used to have Hakkas on my old A4 and have been a fan ever since. |

Got a production number! Production start is supposed to be 1st week of April. Salesman claims I'll have the first MY17 in Canada, not that it matters. All the Carbon Fiber stuff is ordered and they will install it before I take it to get it Xpel'ed and Opti-coated.

Congrats! I just put in my order and have been told production will be in May (exact date TBD). My build is very close to yours (Alpine White though). I added the Speed Limit Info even though I already have a Speed Limit Reminder System, also known as my wife.
I won't be taking delivery of mine until mid- to late-July though as I am still out of the country. I have owned Mercedes and Audi products in the past but can't remember being this stoked about a new ride. |
