A bad guy put his knee into my wife's passenger door. Want to try and pop it out.

My wife drives a 2017 X3 (F25) We parked the SUV next to a truck that was taking up two spaces. I thought I was being courteous and parking next to him giving more space to the person that would park next to me. Obviously, some jerk thought I was the person responsible for the bad parking.

Anyways, a mad guy put his knee into my passenger door. I would like to try and push out the dent from the inside, but I need to remove the door panel.

I have removed door panels from other cars in my past, but I don't want to make this situation any worse. I'm willing to remove the door panel, but I thought I should ask for advice first.

Any thoughts on removing the dent?
Any thoughts on removing the inner panel so I can hopefully access the outer steel panel.

Call a local PDR and do not mess with that dent. It’ll be the best money you spent.

Ouch, sorry... parking over then line is never a good idea, people can be mean.
I highly recommend taking to a PDR specialist for evaluation. Sure it will cost you for them to repair it, but they have the tools and skills to make it look better if not perfect. It's not going to just pop back into place, so unless you really know what you're doing, you'll end up screwing up to where even a specialist will not be able to correct the damage you did trying to fix it.

I've removed the inner panel, it's pretty easy. Removing it ahead of time may reduce the cost at the PDR since they don't have to remove it

That’s just horrible. I cannot believe what some people do sometimes. Just wow. Sorry you are dealing with that this act of destruction.

Serious question: Why not just call your insurance agent and put in a claim to get it done professionally? That would be my advice for the concerns raised above.

Thank you guys. That is great advice. I looked at some PDR videos. Definitely the way to go. I'll post some photos after the PDR expert takes care of it.

Door repaired - Looks perfect

Just wanted to provide an update regarding the dent repair.

The guy I found did a fantastic job. He only charged $1000 and took care of three other small dings.

I still need to get photos... It has been cold or wet... So I have been putting it off.

If you are on the Northside of Houston, let me know and I will provide you with his contact info.

Great. Does it look as good as new? How long did it take him?

Did you mean $100? $1000 seems a bit high for a PDR guy. I've used PDR a # of times and it's never been more than about $120 to $180 per car regardless of the # of dents.

I was going to say that as well. Maybe as high as $250 for a dent that big, but $1,000 seems way high. Although your price seems way low - regardless of the number of dents? I can't see anybody doing major hail damage for that.

Door repaired - Looks perfect

Finally uploading a photo of the repaired door.

I did pay $1000 for the repair. He took a couple days to do it.

That looks great! I would go that route rather than pay that much for paint and bodywork that might not match in a year or two. Good job.
