I have shifted to a 2006 X3 from an M330i and am still learning about the issues. One difference that annoys me is that the left mirror does not automatically tilt when the car (petrol auto) is put into reverse.

I am told this feature is only present when the car as electric seats. An odd relationship!

But is this correct? Does anyone have a non-M X3 with a tilting window? If so, I will go back to the agent!

I see that you are a previous owner so I'm pretty sure you already know that the button position is not the issue.

The tilting mirror is exclusive if you get the premium package ~

Thanks for the confirmation. My three previous cars have been M3 series and the last had the tilting mirror. For the X3, I have had the car about two months and into my third left mirror. It wouldn't tilt manually, even.

The handbook does not, incidentally, distinguish between grades of X3s.

Switch the adjustment switch from the passenger side to the driver side and see if it dips.
