Car stereo upgrade issues
I just replaced the Hi-fi factory amp with an Audio control LCQ-1 and an Alpine MRX-V70 5 channel. This setup sounds much much better over the stock amp. However, the OEM outputs from the radio have enough voltage to trigger the auto-turn on feature on the LCQ even when the radio isn't playing. Even of I unplug the power to the LCQ, enough power still gets through to trigger the amp to come on (the MRX also has this auto sense function). Apparently, this model bimmer turns on all accessory power once the doors are unlocked. This causes the amp to turn on and when I start the car the speakers all pop. Is there an alternate remote wire that I can use to avoid this issue?
My wiring scheme is: OEM HU => LCQ-1 => alpine => speakers |

This wire is only hot when the radio is on. Last edited by Radioactive; 05-26-2014 at 01:57 PM.. |
