How to disable alarm sensor with dog in car

I parked my car with my dog in the back and locked the doors ... went inside to the store I was at and came out with the alarm going off.

Is there some way to disable the interior sensors or whatever sets it off? On my old 2000 Audi S4 there was a button down on the b-pillar you could push to disable the alarm.

I don't like to leave the car unlocked when I take my dog with me...

Try locking the car then press the lock button again, this should disable the alarm but leave the car locked

And I believe the above only disables the interior motion sensors, so the rest of the alarm system remains active.

Correct. Press "lock" twice when locking the vehicle and the motion sensor is disabled but the rest of the system is armed.

the other option is to teach your dog to sit extremely still.

+1

Also disables the tilt sensor.

A must if the car ever needs to be locked while being towed, trucked, railed or on a ferry.

Oh, sorry, but dogs left in the car freaks me out a bit. Please be careful . . .

Sorry.

disable the motion detector

I know pressing the lock button twice disabled it in my 528i, but my X3 does not have the comfort access. I tried pressing the lock button a second time, but the red flashing security light does not illuminate solid as described in my manual. I waited a short distance away and the alarm went off as soon as our dog started moving.

Any thoughts?

First thought - Why are you leaving your dog in the car?

It's actually against the law in many states now. I'm sure you're a good dog owner, just please make sure it's not too hot or too cold and you leave a window cracked.

It amazes me that they need to make it against the law, that just says they don't think their residents are clever enough to decide whether it is safe to leave them or not.
They would be better to ban the owners from breeding if they're that dumb. Far better long term solution.

The law is to protect dogs from those who are not clever enough.

Exactly, that was my point!

I meant stop the owners breeding, not stop them breeding animals.
