All MY2013 28i models are black now it seems. The 35i is the original silver color.

I'll say again...same as Europe, 4 cylinder models get black, 6 cylinder get silver. I don't know for sure about NA but it looks likely.

Guess that's why it's shocking some people in the US that it's black now but I guess that's how BMW distinguishes the smaller engines in general. |

AW/matte silver/black leatherette
Cold Weather Package 1 Sports Act. Package Xenon Headlights Navi w/assist & blueteeth PDC I got my car delivered Apr'13 so it only has about 100~150miles on it. To get a feel for the engine I test drove the F30 328i before ordering this car. It has plenty of power even though its a few hundred lbs heavier than the 328i. Stop/start took quite a bit of getting used to but now it feels like second nature. Love the newer idrive with all the quick buttons to get in each individual setting. Not a fan of the steering but then again, I already knew what I was getting into when I test drove the 328i (I really regret not getting the dynamic handling package). The car I had before this was a 2010 Suburau Tribeca w/3 row seating, although this car is smaller the inside is definitely roomier and more comfortable. The materials inside is sturdy, high quality and does not squeak. As far as the driver experience goes, like I said. I only got a couple hundreds miles on it so I really haven't gotten around to pushing it. I wanted the X3 as a DD and so far it definitely serves its purpose. Its comfortable w/plenty of space, power and I don't have to worry about dodging potholes all day P.S. The front grille is black and looks exceptional with the Sport Act. package on AW... |

1) sliver shows the car has a better engine 2) black shows the car has a more economical engine 35i owners will pick 1) and 28i owners 2) They'll just have to deal with the shame as we have done in Europe for years!

I drove 36KM today (all city). I will drive on high way more this weekend to see the number of fuel economic. These are my first impressions so far: Engine: I was surprised when I heard the engine sounds when the sales first drove it out of the BMW dealership inventory area. Because it sounds really wired and noisy when I heard from outside. The sales told me it's because of the new car, the noise will go away after a week. Handling : Excellent. no other word to describe it. Fuel: With all city driving today, i got average 11.7 lit/100km with mix driving of sport/comfort/eco pro Auto Start/Stop: This one is interesting, the engine starts very fast like 0.5 second when your feet left the pad. If you don't want the engine stop every time when red light is on, you can avoid stopping engine by stepping on pad gently instead of push to the end. Interior : The layout is exactly same as 2012, but the material of the metal part is different in colors, instead of shining silver, its matt/plain silver and looks anti scratch to me. |

Of course there is a difference between engine cold and warm, and maybe you heard a cold engine. Do you have a possibility to record the sound now with a smartphone, and in a weeks time? |

I placed my order early in March where 2013 X3 start building in April. Believe or not, when I picked up my 2013 X3, there were a deck of keys and packages on the desk of my sales. He told me 9 out of 10 of them were 2013 X3 that were ready to pick up at the same day. LOL

Guess I am getting the X3 at the beginning of June then. Sucks to be in Toronto without a car, what with the wind and the rain, and the occasional freak snow and hail |

I've got all of 10 days to wait and using the motorcycle to get around. I'm thinking I'll have to rent a car now. |
