Racechip is as good as dinan but with Racechip you can turn it up higher but due to Dinan's warranty, Dinan does not put the engine to the limit on the other hand Racechip doesn't have to guarantee or waranty anything but just gives you a warning that you basically are messing with your engine and if you do blow up your engine because you turned it up to the max ... well its your fault.

He's right on, good thing RaceChip is not BMS JB4 it wont be possible to blow it up.

Are you saying at highest setting the RC cannot blow engine, really?

Dinan had a horrible start but if you look at the 2:32 in this video the dinan x3 keeps up with the 35i
and if you compare the racechip to the 35i they are basically the same as well

Yes had noticed, the cost differential between the two is significant, deciding on RC just bugged if anything happened if BMW would dishonor warranty, In theory I know it's rare, it's what's keeping me for making the leap on my brand new car.

You might as well keep it stock for a while then and when you get used to the car you can add a tune which should make the car new again lol and maybe they might have bigger and better tunes available lol

Sorry haven't replied back, I believe any Piggyback tune if driven with CEL for a long time can cause some harm to your car, what kind? not sure. BMS is known for its Drivetrain Malfunction errors seen 2 550 racing each other on youtube, seems it couldn't be pushed hard so often maybe.

The aFe Scorcher, BMS Stage1, or RaceChip come in a setting thats optimal balance and very safe for your car. There's been weird occasions some ppl get drivetrain malfunction even without a tune. Racechip allows me to increase my setting without $35 usb cable or laptop, so far I am up to BMS Stage2/JB4 performance if not a little a little more. On setting 4 it lead by 1-2ft against 35i (same DWS tires and size on both cars), definitely want to test setting 5 as the maximum is 7.
