left side pulling problem!

recently i bought x3 2.0 diesel x line in India.

since the first drive car tries to drift way to left side, i feel constant stress on the steering wheel.(RHD VEHICLE)

complained about the same to local dealer, they tried to do alignment for 3 or four times but still the problem persist.

dealer also tried swapping entire set of tyres and alloys with new car( don't know why) but still problem persist .

now they doubt suspensions for the same.

since i have bought new car and i reckon bmw has good "quality checks" standards before they send vehicle to dealership i wonder what is the real reason for the such problem.

has anyone faced similar problem?

A remember reading a post about someone with a similar problem and they said replacing their perch springs and spindles fixed the problem.

They type / model of the tire. Try changing to a different model of tire.

Is it a brandnew car , or not ? Could it be that it was involved in an accident ?

Note that X3s which are sold in India are assembled in Chennai, India from CKD Kits which are manufactured in the US. IMHO, Harshalkpatel is doing the exact correct thing by raising his problem with BMW India. His dealer is still attempting to correct the problem, but there is no obvious solution. Involving BMW India is not a bad idea.

yes have to involve BMW India, x3 in India is for 90K USD.

leaving price apart i don't expect BMW to provide such defective car,the way car drives rightnow is against their tag line "sheer driving pleasure".

expecting reply from Bmw India today.

Harshal do let me know how it goes. I have been facing a similar issue on mine. You have to put a slight bit of pressure to keep the steering straight, and if you leave it it immediately tilts a bit to the left. But when you hold the steering straight the car doesn't drift to the left. So I imagine the alignment is fine. The dealer had swapped the left and right front tyres, which made it a bit better, but its not become worse again.

Im very interested in knowing what happens next, and will possibly speak to BMW India for the same solution if they find you one.

hello! akshay!

finally problem solved. dealership replaced 'Steering Assembly' and 'Steering Column' since then the car is neutral now.

we also had to replace front two tires as they were worn out unevenly due to left side pulling.

all the best with your X3

How many kms done on your car?

Also whom did you speak to at BMW India?

I'm now going to pursue it.
