Hello i just purchased a 2008 X3 3.0si . i have fixed many bmw's and had a few. This thing sounds like someone replaced all the woofers with mids, and its missing a bass speakers.
Is that how (i'm guessing its the non premium) its supposed to sound?

I also have a 08 X3. Mine doesn’t have the LCD display but the overall sound system is amazing. I like it more than the Bose system in my Maserati. The overall range is amazingly clear lows, mids, highs.

I think your expecting Bass...which Bose (Buy Other Sound Equipment) has more. This sound system sounds more "crisp" so less emphasis on Bass. I think you have HiFi(S676A), but you can check here: https://www.bmwvin.com/
Yeah I was also dissapointed by the lack of bass from the underseat woofers.....but when I tested the amplifier and bass speakers with ISTA-D, it is able to isolate them properly, and ISTA says the amp works plus the speakers...can also feel the underseat speakers "whiff"...so I just think the sound system is not as bass heavy as other vehicles.
