iDrive Eco/Comfort/Sport Mode Animations

Hi friends!

When I first test drove the X3, I remember there being some little animations that would display on the iDrive screen whenever you switched between Eco/Comfort/Sport modes. It was something along the lines of the car driving onto the screen, with different colored lights glowing underneath to represent which driving mode you had selected.

I noticed that my 2017 X3 doesn't seem to display these animations when switching between driving modes. Was this something that they've since disabled, or can it be turned on via a setting within iDrive? So far, I haven't been able to find a setting to enable it, but it's entirely possible that I've missed it

Thank you!

Nothing has been disabled. It is configurable through idrive with additional options adjusted through easy coding. It just depends whether you desire displays on instruments cluster &/or HU screen.

Do the animations display on the instruments cluster and HU screen too?

Depends on cluster and if coded correctly. Cluster will briefly popup drive mode as you toggle; additionally, it can show permanently as well shift gear.

HU will show too if coded for pop or popup & config.

EcoPro, EcoPro+, Comfort, Comfort+, Sport, Sport+, Edrive.

Whether drive mode pop ups display is configurable through idrive. Depending on vehicle, you may need to code to allow configuring of certain modes. Displays are only on cluster and / or HU, not HUD.
