TPMS message -- Unable to Detect pressure loss for up to 12 minutes
Hi,
I am having issue with my BMW X3 2013. I was trying to reset the TPMS but when i do that it gives me this message "System inactive and unable to detect pressure loss for up to 12 minutes. Reset only occur while driving" --- it only gives me this message when i try to reset the TPMS. i am not getting any yellow light or any kind of warning though. Anybody have any clue? is this any type of malfunction? attached is the picture of the message i am getting |

This message comes up every time you reset your TPMS system. It does not indicate a fault. It is there to tell you that during the system learning phase, which occurs while driving the vehicle and can take up to 12 minutes. This system is not active and cannot detect tire pressure loss. Once the tires turn green on the screen and it says TPM Active. The system has completed the learning phase and is now fully operational.

Thanks for the Reply. Dealer called me today and asked me to bring my can in for through check up. after few hours i got a chance to talk to the mechanic who performed service on my car. He said he did hard rest on TPMS but also said its not a fault, he said its a normal condition. he used exact same words as Barbera335 described here so i am feeling better now knowing nothing is wrong with my car.

I always get the same message and it has never taken more than 30 seconds to reset!
