Sorry, maybe I missed it, but were they sensors that you used before? I'd assume so? I can't understand how the car would sync to know the pressure was okay, but not display the pressure or temp stats anymore. Were any of the modules/systems updated? Did you try turning off the setting on bimmercode then turning it back on?
I know places like Discount tire (not sure what your equivalent might be) have the tools to actually scan the TPMS sensors to get batter or other stats from them. Maybe they'd have some insight? If they're actually registered to your car (which they seem to be) I don' think there's another "trick" to get them to send more data.

have you tried putting winter tires back on to see how they behave? i assume they were displaying pressure and temp up to the point you took them off?
It may help determine if the problem is linked to the wheels or the vehicle |

Tires on car at present were fully functional when removed 4 months ago. Winter set install and TPMS chimed right in on installation. Sensors on currently installed set must be communicating as the reset function seems to work, and I see 4 Green tires in iDrive display. I let a few pounds out of one tire- sensors must be talking as display shows low pressure error. |

Interesting that you say you let air out of one tire as a test yet all 4 show as yellow in the display. I have never tried it but i would have assumed (yeah i know) that only the tire that was low would be yellow and the other 3 would still show green.

It does seem odd, this is first time I've ever checked system response with one tire low. The sensors must be talking to the control system in the car, it's strange....

This was changed a few years back here in the US - some BMWs you can re-activate the individual display. My e89 had it, then went in for an "upgrade" and there it went...

Well, interesting….my display finally came alive with pressure and temp data after over 2+ weeks of driving, hmm….

Mine took a few days when i swapped from summer to winter setup...
Just keep resetting and it will come back eventually.

I am having the same problem where the new OEM TPMS sensors have reset successfully, but no pressure/temp readings are being shown. Can anyone share their input as to how long it would take the readings to show? Do I have to constantly reset until it comes up, or does it suddenly show after driving for a significant distance? Any help would be appreciated. |

My personal experience has been that at times it may take a while…like when doing my seasonal winter/summer changeover…the data may appear within a few minutes, then there are times I’ve driven across the city and it still hasn’t reset the data. Then on a restart and drive later…the data will appear.

One more question, when the TPMS are being reset, do the pressures have to be set exactly at the values stated on my door sill? Or can they be 2-3psi above? My door sill states 32F, 35R and they are way to soft for PS4S. It came with factory RFTs that I replaced immediately when I had the chance. I guess what I am trying to understand is the process of the reset. For example, if I set the pressures above 32/35, let's say 34/37, and I do a reset, does the car think that I have 32/35 even though the actual pressures are 34/37 and erroneously display 32/35 reading on I-drive? (ie. wrong baseline reading?) |

^^^^ ditto. When you do a TPM sensor reset…you are creating a new baseline for the sensors. If you increase the tire pressure above the what is on the door jamb label…that will be the new baseline and if a tire’s inflation decreases by whatever the designed % is…then you will get a warning.

Pressure and temp display came on today when I was driving back from work. It has been about 2 weeks since I have installed the new TPMS.
I am not sure of the technical aspects, but this is how it went for me when I installed the 4 new OEM sensors. 1. On the first day after getting the car back from the shop, when I tried resetting, it went up to 49% and gave a TPMS error on Idrive. Tried resetting about 2-3 times during the same driving session, no avail. 2. Second day, I checked the error codes and it gave me 5 TPMS related errors on the DSC (under ICM) module: 1 RDCi module error and 4 errors on all TPMS sensors. I cleared this with Bimmerlink. I also matched the pressures stated on my door card. 3. I immediately went for a drive to reset TPMS. It successfully reset and the four tires on Idrive turned green, but no pressure and temp readings. 4. Since #3, I tried resetting the TPMS about 3-4 times during the past 1.5 weeks but the pressure and temp never displayed, with the last reset being two days ago. This was in combination of increasing the pressure +1-2 psi all around mid week (door card was too soft, as it was meant for factory RFTs). In conclusion, patience is a virtue. As Wgosma stated, it took about 1.5 weeks since clearing the RDCi errors and the first successful reset (first sync) of the new TPMS sensors. Those that come across 49% errors, do not buy a new RDCi module, as it may only need a clearing of error codes on the DSC module (integrated chassis mgmt). I suppose this is necessary as the RDCi module is looking for the old sensors, but getting a different signal with the new ones. I hope my experience helps anyone who are looking to replace the OEM sensors and come into the same problem. |
