Vents under rear quarter windows?

Anyone know what the vents are on each side just behind the rear seat below the rear quarter windows? I was putting a small round parking sticker on the inside of the window and when peeling off the backing, which consisted of two half-circles, I think I might have dropped one half down there. I can't really see in there and don't see any way to gain access. Anyone have an idea.

Don't quote me but believe they are the air escape vents. When you have the windows up, sunroof closed and the fan on, like in the winter with the heater on or the summer with the A/C on, unless you have a place for the air being blown into the cabin to escape so more fresh air can come in, the cabin will become pressurized to a point where no more fresh air will come in because it has no place to go and you'd be sucking your own human CO2.

Agreed. That, and you don't annoy your eardrums just by closing a door.

Ha, I do remember all the BMW's I've had prior to this X3 would do that. I did like the sound the doors made when they closed though, I miss that ...thud. I remember when I met my wife and she got in our car and closed the door for the first time and turned to me and said, gee, that sounds different and I felt my ears shutter. I said, ...welcome to quality
