Durashield / Protex / Z-Shield

My X3 is going in Friday for the installation of the clear bra. I got a quote for 650$ for the Durashield PPF, that will be installed on the hood, mirors, lights, fog lights, and bumber (shell). and fenders. I will also add the paint sealant for 150$ and I got a deal for the tinted glass for 175$.

I really think that this protection is required because that bumber is too nice to be all picked by rocks and bugs. And with the s_ _ _ that they put on the roads in Quebec, it will not take long too look bad. Also it is Alpine White so I don't want it to fade.

Got some good comments about the PPF. Anyone else getting that done?

Really the only thing you need to worry about a clear bra on a white car is that it can yellow if not taken care of.

I understand the clear bra's protect against nicks from road sand/rocks, but is it really worth it?

10,000% worth it.

I can't comment on which material to use. Most companies are on their 7th+ iteration of polymer technology. The days of "yellowing" plastics is long gone, these materials are ultra thin, ultra clear, ultra durable and sometimes ultra expensive.

If you're a non-highway, non-winter driver you can get away without it.

If you drive highway, especially anywhere with sand/salt on the road it's quintessential.

Do you know what brand they put on? and do you use the plastic cleaning product that is supposed to be used to clean it?
