X3 F25 - repair bonnet

I stupidly ran into a car in front, slowly, and bizarrely the only damage to my X3 is the centre nose of the bonnet has been bent back 1/2 inch, no scratches anywhere. I am guessing the grille bent in and sprung back but front of bonnet just bent. Not creased, no paint cracks.

Has anyone done this and can you have it pulled straight?

First Dent Shop I spoke to said you can only pull out (without having to respray) a dent in the middle of a panel.

Don't want to get someone else to do it if it is likely to end up with cracked paintwork.

Impressed by the design / build of the front of the X3 for this to happen. Not impressed by my own driving though!

Thanks

When searching for dent removal on plastic bumpers I came across several articles on dent repair in metal with heating gun or high heat hair dryer and dry ice or compressed air. You might give it a search.

No insurance? They should just replace the hood.

Check the local scrap yards for an x3 with rear end damage...pull the hood and have it resprayed.

Local dent repair specialist sorted it out. Knocked out - heated paint to stop cracking - pulled out lip, it looks exactly like new, amazing work. £60. My fault so not insurance claim since excess is £300.

Hadn't appreciated how good they are at getting dents sorted without effecting paintwork - will get the dents on wife Mini sorted now.

I am glad you got it fixed so cheaply and without fuss! Something to bear in mind if I have a mishap in my new car!

My dent

Mysterious dent and chip in left corner of hood or as you say bonnet. either was from a rock or ice off a roof. no damage to head light, very strange.
Ended up getting entire hood painted replace armor coat for that area, they were able to bend it back. there was some question if it would crack because it was aluminum but no problem and better to not replace entire hood was said. Went to best shop in town. Covered by comprehensive $1400. It looks great but I know it's not original paint. Oh the pain of loving a new car.
