How does everybody feel about used 35d's

Looking to get rid on my 2010 Ram 5.7 Hemi for something not as big and with a diesel to tow my toys and boat. Options are really 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee with MB 3.0 CDI, MB ML320/350 CDI, X5 35d and Touareg TDI. I haven't driven any of these yet only doing research and hoping others have cross shopped.

I'm not a fan of VW and they seem to be the most expensive, the MB I'm ok with but not very sporty and a sluggish 7 speed auto, the Jeep is what I'm leaning toward just as it's easy to deal with but hard to find and would love the X5 but worried about reliability.

Other concerns with the X5 are any issues with the diesel engine, I know the 335d had several issues some requiring the head to be pulled to fix carbon issues. Others would be the typical crap BMW and tiny speakers, run flats, lack of spare tire and.

I have a 2007 X3 3.0sd (early 35d) and can't fault it in anyway.

As mine is an X3 you get a space saver spare and no runflats so more positives for you.

I have a 2007 30sd and I love it.
However, is it normal to be a bit laggy at first accelleration from 1200rpm? She pulls very hard from 2000rpm.
My 2003 530d responds faster initially.
I have always been wondering whether the smaller turbo might be out of action.

agree, the X3 30 SD is a great bit of kit, I have had some issues but no more than expected. Mine has just turned 150,000 miles.
