So from this pdf file :

1- you cannot choose the confort setting if you do not have ZNR
2- By default, M-sport comes with variable sport steering set to sport.
3- Sport dampers with sport+ setting requires ZNR

From all indications, the Dynamic Comfort Pkg (Canada only) includes the adjustable shocks.

The M Sport pkg does not look like it includes adjustable shocks.

Both pkgs include the buttons, they just affect the vehicle different ways.

One other thing: if sport+ is chosen, which damper will be active without ZNR ?

Form the official german Price list, you should have received with M Package:
Front wheel 81/2Jx19 245/45
Back wheel 91/2Jx19 275/45

Other post shows that the M Sport package includes the DDC. US spec vehicle if memory serves.

Makes sense. You're not going to feel a huge amount of difference in straight ahead driving (maybe a little firmer over the bumps) but you should notice the difference when cornering, etc. There should be a little less body roll and a firmer feel.

I'm just happy that it appears we're getting this function in the M Sport.

I've asked this question many times and the fact is:

* Dynamic Drive Control (ie the rocker switch to change from normal/sport/sport+) controls the variable steering or the Dynamic/Electronic Damper Control (ie the suspension) or both.

The M sports package has the variable steering control which means you get the rocker switch and can change the steering dynamics only.

If you order the Damper control as well, the system will change suspension also.

Hope this clears it up.

This *could* be different in the UK... but I respectfully disagree. Active Steering (or whatever sort of Sports Steering) they are calling it now is not what those buttons are for. BMW's Active Steering system has no driver controls or settings. The NORMAL, SPORT, SPORT+ buttons are for the stiffness of the suspension.

So is the consensus that a 35i with the M Sport pkg but without the Dynamic Handling pkg will in indeed have Dynamic Damping Control?

That is the consensus so far... only one real life vehicle has been delivered (that has been posted) so far. I will have mine next week sometime and then the mystery will be solved. At this point, I really don't know what to expect the first time I peer inside and look at the console. But I am hoping to see those two buttons there.

Truecar added this when bmwusa.com had an error that listed DDC as part of the M sport package - but they subsequently removed it from the list of options. Since BMW removed it and the discounted DHP package costs far too much if Performance Control and DDC was already included in M package - I believe it's NOT included.

The problem is, that all the published material is months old, and we all know better than to trust the configurator. We have seen photos of two M-Sports so far, the gray one (a 28i) on eBay, and Boy-With-Joy's new AW M Sport 35i. Both were configured WITHOUT Dynamic Handling Package - and both HAVE DDC installed.

I'm holding on to my hope.

Uhh having the side button doesn't equal DDC since it can still control shift/steering response without the dampeners - so ZERO confirmation it's included.

OK -- took delivery of my xDrive35i M-Sport 2 hours ago (have been driving since). The DDC is included in the M-Sport package. I was sure to have my CA walk me through the DDC settings before I drove it off the lot. You're even able to bifurcate the suspension and shift/throttle settings for the toggle via iDrive.

Again -- this is 100% confirmed, US Spec M-Sport package includes Dynamic/Electronic Damper Control.

Also (and this may have been confirmed) wheels are NOT staggered.

Snapped one shot before last light. I'll break out the D3100 on Saturday. If anyone has any requests (and yes, I'll take shots of the DDC options), please pass them along.

The Canadian configurator has been amended very recently. You can see it at www.BMW.ca

In it, if you select the MSport pkg, that gets you the Performance Control. BUT, it does not get you the Dynamic Damper Control. You have to add the Dynamic Comfort Pkg ($1500) to get the Dyn Damper Control. When you select the DynComfort Pkg, it has two items - the Performance Control, and the Dynamic Damper Control. Further the detail says "Includes Dynamic Driving Control Modes (Normal, Sport, Sport +), and it further shows the Performance Control already selected (via the MSpoprt pkg). Thus, the Dyn Comfort Pkg at $1500 in Canada really only adds the Dyn. Damper Control.

The switch for DDC may be there in some configurations but it does not adjust the suspension. I cannot believe that the Cdn cars will be different than the US cars.

Mine should be here next week and it will have both MSport and Dynamic Comfort pkgs.

Hi guys,

It looks like US-spec M Sport equipped cars come with the Dynamic Handling package included. See the attached image (hopefully for good proof). This was a X3 brochure received from a local BMW dealer two days ago.

All of the items listed underneath "Dynamic Handling Package" are included by default in the "M Sport Package" as well.

That would mean the Cdn and US cars are different, ie. the MSport pkg has different componants in the US vs Canada. This doesn't make sense to me at all - but could be true.

Just to clarify. You did NOT order it with the dynamic handling package and you are still able to adjust the dampers?

If this is true, then BMW wouldn't let you pay for the dynamic handling package once you have selected the M sport package...

Right now you get a $100 discount if you choose the m sport package
