X3 speakers size ?
Hi everyone
Do somebody knows what are the measurements for the speakers in the F25 X3 ? for the Hi-Fi ou Professional system... (the Pro has 2 more rear component speakers, I think) I guess that there are 2 underseat woofers, 8" 4" components with 1.X" tweeters in every door And the center speaker looks a bit larger ? I'm planning an aftermarket amp + speakers to get integrated to the existing head unit... not waiting for the BSW option... Thanks ! |

I haven't taken delivery yet, but I did look into upgrading the audio before ordering the X3 with premium sound. Here is what I found out:
BMW headunits are finicky to match with amplifiers. I believe that the speakers are in mm not inches, so you may need an adapter. Could be very difficult to replace 8" woofer with non oem, since it's a very flat coned speaker. I asked an audio shop about upgrading my wife's 10' 535i, he told me to try BSW. You might try replacing the speakers first. There is a German company called Rainbow Audio(?) that people speak highly of. |

Not in your front seat, but under it, in the floor board. Put some music on that has a good amount of low bass. You should be able to at least feel the vibration. Also make sure that nothing is under the seat that would cover the speaker.

If anybody wants to increase their bass response, you may want to cut away anything such as carpet that's covering the woofers under the front seats.
