Question about the x3
I just bought I x3 in Canada, I got some question about the headlight. Is it the x3's light are Adaptive Frontlight? Also why my car doesn't have the headlight washer? I saw the pics on the BMW.ca the car do have the headlight washer. Anyone know why?

I think you get headlight washers only with the Xenons. Adaptive lights is also an option in Norway.

No head lamp washers in Canads, could that be because it gets to cold and would just end up becoming a maintenance repair issue? Do other cars in Canada have this option?

Doubt that would be the case, as it required by law in Sweden on xenon cars, and it gets as cold here...
Never had any problems with headlight washers (apart from that they are pretty useless without any form of wiper), despite temperatures below -30c |

Same here in Australia, for some reason it is required by law to have washers if you want Xenons. Adaptive is an option. Thus you can have Xenons with Washers but not adaptive. not sure if you can get Adaptive if you dont have Xenons.

I had washers on my M3, my 535xi and others. Never had a maintenance problem with them; however IMO they are useless and I don't care about them.

The washers are required by EU type approval laws. Basically any car sold in EU that have xenons from factory must also have washers fitted.
Due to mutual recognition of some rules between, for example, Australian ADR, Japanese standard & EU standard, cars on sale in markets that are outside of NA will have similar technical specs. |
