Which One-Day Rental?

I'll be traveling soon, leaving my F25 x35i at home, and have a hole in my schedule, where I want to rent a "fun" car for one day.

The (Hertz) options available to me include: Porsche Panamera, Cayenne, Boxster, and 911, Mercedes C63 AMG, E63 AMG, and S550, Jaguar XJ, and BMW 650i, and M5.

For the first cut, I'm thinking Cayenne or 911 for Porsche, E63 AMG for Merc, skip the Jag, and M5 for BMW.

Further distilling the options, I'm thinking that the M5 is what I want to drive.

Thoughts?

Depends what you want from your 'fun' car...

For me, if the weather's right, you can't beat a convertible for fun so, if it was somewhere nice, I'd go for the Boxter

+1 Boxster (over the 911).

Just drove a Boxster S at a auto-x event... I don't think BMW makes car that's as much fun (in that format) to drive than this Porsche.

Another vote for the 911. The Boxster says you can't afford a 911

Whatever you choose get the insurance!

F10 M5 or E60 M5? Assuming the Porsches are the base models; no S, GTS, or Turbo, the M5 E60/F10 is prolly fastest car on that list, but probably not as fun as the 911 or Boxster.

I'd choose 911
