Sort of looks like the new one has a great deal of negative camber in the front, like the front wheels are bowed in if that makes sense - but that might be an optical illusion from the angle of the picture.

Front end of the f25 is unquestionably better looking.

Dual tips on the G01 are nice, as is the interior.

Honestly, when is the last time we really saw something aesthetically striking from bmw?

As much as I hated Bangle era cars when they first came out, when I see them now, they still look rather modern.

I drove my fathers 2017 X3 the other night and found the ride rather uncomfortable and choppy. Handling is okay for its weight and size though.

G01 is superior in every way. However, aesthetics are subjective.

It almost fell over built, heavy duty, Quite impressed! The fit and finish was identical if not better then the 3 Series sedan's.

The X4 was everything I hoped it to be and more. It is the perfect size! Do I wish it was quicker off the line - Yes, but the vehicle is heavy something I'm not used to even after driving wagons most of my life. Full on SUV.

Things I'd like to see tweaked. Low profile interior roof hand handles added for easier exiting and entering the vehicle and also for cornering and just something to hold on to, leather straps will do just fine. Optional moonroof, (delete) if wanted. I don't need a moonroof or want one. I prefer solid metal over my head and less overall upper roof weight, I rather put that money into another important option. Also would like to see the X4 M Sport have more aggressive M sportier styling and accoutrements.

Also for these newer vehicles I'd like to see LARGER navigational screens, because they are now indispensable.

Can't wait to see what a true X4M will be like.

Do I recommend this vehicle after test driving it and thoroughly inspecting the build quality, absolutely!
Gotta agree the X4 is well put together going to 4th year, squeak and rattle free.

Absolutely, ZERO squeaks rattles or whatever. Super well-built! No joke, top-notch quality and it should be. Nice job BMW North America!

No, the Macan and G01 does NOT belong to the same class.
The former is a smaller and a much lower SUV, it´s almost a crossover.
Besides it´s interior reveal it belongs to a previous generation.
The closest BMW to Macan is Perhaps the F48 - if size is compared.
A G01 is much more modern, it´s bigger and have a more premium feel to it.

it's like all they did is change the name from " sport package" to " M sport package "...
You cannot order a x3 40i

It must be an m40i

My point is m Sport isn't for everyone.
The "sport" package and the "m sport" package are 2 different things as witnessed in previous 3 series models. BMW offered both packages for a while.

Agreed- if bmw lost the gray gloss bumper and did a nice refined black plastic- I'd be in-

I test drove an M3 Competition Package with Adaptive Suspension and let me tell you that was an amazing option.

Biggest improvement on the 3rd Gen G01 X3 is the implementation of Auto Stop Start.

Yes, we still cannot code it to be permanently off, but when it works it works nearly seamlessly so that you don't even notice it doing its thing 99% of the time.

Totally disagree. I find it far too aggressive to come on and it will stop the engine before I’ve even come to,a halt, quite often causing it to come on again as I slightly ease off the accelerator (which is how I was taught to come to,a stop, to avoid jerkiness)

We are going to get to the point where we have that big hideous Mongo grill that Audi has.

I have noticed that the ASS on my 2018 indeed is a lot smoother than in my 2015. A few times I did have to look at my cluster to see the tach to see that it actually activated.

as a gen 1 and gen 2 owner, we started our recent search with the gen 3 but was dissapointed in the total package at that price point. surprisingly ended up with a new xc90. its a totally different size class so I know its not an apples to apples comparison. but I was surprised how small the xc90 felt, love the interior and ride. plus we were able to also dump my old qx56 that did family & big dog hauling because the xc90 interior is almost as big on the inside. still surprised

Interesting.

Perhaps it has something to do with a 30d diesel engine?

My X3 does not shut off the engine until the car has come to a complete stop for at least a 1 or 2 seconds.

Yes, it’s the opposite with me. That’s how my 335 used to be, but this is definitely stopping prematurely (in my books, anyway).

I like some things about the F25 better and some things about the G01 better aesthetically. Not really an improvement to me, just different. I think I've purchased my last ICE vehicle anyway, but wouldn't have looked to upgrade my 2015 X3 3.5 also due to the rather large price increase to get a 6-cylinder.
