Bluetooth and Blackberry curve 9360
Just placed my order for X3 and considering a replacement phone.
I presently have an old sony ericcson which is fully compatible with my current vehicle(335D SE COUPE) but it is on its last legs and needs replacing. I want to make sure the replacement phone is fully compatible. Checked the BMW UK web site but most of the Blackberry phones they list are old ones which are no longer available or Bold which is more expensive. Phoned BMW HQ but they were not much help, they just said that the list was 'constantly updated as models were tested' from age of phones on the site I beg to differ. As I am paying them £265 for bluetooth function I think this service is rather poor. Just wondered if any members had used this model or similar on X3 and experienced any problems with phonebook etc? |

9360 has the latest OS (BB7) which is the same as the Bold. It also has the full BlueTooth features (including MAP - message access protocol) , so theoretically it should work fine.

When I purchased my new 2012 BMW X3 28i, I then went searching for a phone that could take advantage of the "office" features - displaying and reading emails, downloading the address book for use with the hands free phone, my appointments and tasks, etc... The Blackberry Bold 9650 was the model I selected. I ordered the cradle with BMW Apps just in case I get an iPhone in the future... Everything works great and as expected with the Bold 9650, but every once in a while it burps....the first time this happened, I went crazy thinking that it was the BMW. NOT. It was the blackberry, and the resolve is simple: remove the battery, let it start back up again. That simple. Best of luck, if you have any questions about my functionality feel free to contact me directly.

My VZ BB 9850 worked great for about 8 months until I added bluetooth audio selection on the X3. Now the only thing that works is the phone. But two days ago, I kept trying to call out and nothing, no ringing on the other end or voice. Pulled the battery and got it working again. Still no MAP or audio. Tried everything but reloading entire OS on BB. Guess that's next when I have a couple hours with nothing to do. Ya, right. If that doesn't work, the dealer.
