surprised the customer rep from the 1 800 # didnt mention that at all. Been trying to track down the status for a week.

A plant shutdown isn't good for PR. Hence, they are taught to be vague on the customer service number. Somewhere, I verbally heard I had a 2nd week July date, I thought this was the second week of July, however it must be next week. Fingers crossed!

heard from your CA? Should I be contacting my CA or just continue speaking to a customer rep?

When the plant reopens it will be producing 2012 MY vehicles, or will they still be 2011 MY? And has anyone had sight of the 2012 MY order sheets yet?

Would you happen to know if the Processing center is also closed for the week? That is where my X3 has been for a few days.

I have no details. I called the SC plant and asked for a status and was told the plant is closes and will be open next week Monday.

I have no other info...

I called the 800 number for the FACTORY in SC. They are closed until Monday!

Parks closed! For cleaning and repair! I feel like John Candy in Vacation!

Their summer maintenance coincides with the fourth of July holiday weekend, so employees can have a holiday. Back up and running next week for sure.

nice.

how do you know it went on a carrier on July 1st? Mine has been sitting on "release to carrier and awaiting transport to port of exit" or something for the last couple of days when i call the phone number.

The only reason I know it went on the carrier July 1 was because it had just finished production June 30th. My dealer checked on it on Friday and it had been released to the carrier and arrived the next day (July 2)! The Sales Manager said at the end of the month BMW pushes to get the cars out quickly so they can get them off them books. My first X3 took 4 days to get here after it was finished. Never expected it in 2.

ahh...nice.

the 800 number updated, and instead of released to carrier/awaiting transportation, it now says being transported to port of exit (i have no idea if that means my dealer, or if that is the VPC in NJ). It has been sitting on prep center on the website for the last few days.

No matter though...chase has been giving me the once over on my car title. i gave them an alternate address twice (once with payment, once a few days ago to ensure they got it over phone) as well as a fedex number to send overnight, but they decided to send it standard mail anyways.

EDIT: now the BMWUSA.com website says that my car is at my dealer center. unfortunately my dealer verified and the car is not yet there...
