Dinan

Hey I just found out about the X3/X4 stage 1. I was about to move forward with a Macan and may reconsider! This brings up to 360hp plus 392 torque!

The Macan's handling is fantastic, but it's utility is heavily compromised compared to the Q5 on which it's based. In other words, if you care at all about the practicality, you lose a lot in the Macan compared to the X3. Personally, I'd take the 35i and the Dinan chip and save $$$.

I figure Porsche made the Macan because there are a lot of wealthy people out there who want to drive a CUV for the "cool" factor rather than because they actually need a big, practical vehicle. Otherwise cars like the Macan, and the Lexus nx200t (with X3 like dimensions yet laughable cargo ******* wouldn't exist.

Great point!!! I'm about to pull trigger on one. Rethinking. I love my x3 35i 2011 which I gave to my wife. One reason why I did not keep was the performance. Just wanted a little more!

Since your wife has an X3, at least you have access to a practical vehicle, so the compromised cargo and rear-seat room in the Macan may not matter as much to you. Just make sure whatever you choose meets your need.

For me, my wife drives a little car, so my car has to be the practical family car AND fun to drive. That's how I ended up with an X3.

Yes thinking about going X4 for me. That would be cool.

35i has great performance from stock for me , put a easy to install piggyback tune or if you prefer the Dinan and even more fun

I have a 28i and drove my friends 35i wow!
That made me buy a piggyback tune within 2 months and now really happy I did I'm in his zone

Excited to hear about your dyno event!

Have you guys ever put a stock 28i or 35i on a dyno? I'm curious what the 28i puts down at the wheels. I've seen a claim that the 328i RWD puts 240 hp down at the wheels (so obviously the engine has WAY more than 240 at the crank!). Just curious how xdrive will affect this.

My 35i friend couldn't make it unfortunately that was the goal.
But I had my RaceChip on 3 levels to compare to my X3 28i Dinan friend 3 runs.

if you are just going Macan for more power then I think Dinan chip + N55 would suffice...

But my friend who has fully loaded X3 has test drove the Macan, and the handling, build quality and overall driving experience is amazing...

Yes I would agree. I tested the S and it was really nice!
