New wheels TPMS question F25
Hi,
I have a 2017 F25 X35d running on 20" and looking for smaller diameter rims for the winter. when looking for new wheels like for example Tiger claws from an X5 in 19"... wonder if they would use the same tyre pressure check system ? |

I bought a set of wheels and tires off of a guy who had them on his X5. I still have not been able to get the TPMS to connect. I'll just replace them when it's time to get new tires.

Excerpt from the manual for my 2015 X3.
“ FTM Flat Tire Monitor The concept The system detects tire inflation pressure loss on the basis of rotation speed differences be‐ tween the individual wheels while driving. In the event of a tire inflation pressure loss, the diameter and therefore the rotational speed of the corresponding wheel changes. This will be detected and reported as a flat tire.” |

Bmw has basically used 2 sensors in history. I think they changed around 2010-11? Not sure on the date exactly. If a sensor came from any recent X5 it'll work on an X3.
