Brake Pad Change
X-Line 2.0D - 2014 Model.
It is showing on the service indicator that Front Brake Pads have 100miles left. Quick question do i have to get get done at a Dealership for warranty purposes or can I go pretty much anywhere? Is there any special reset tools they need for the dashboard counter etc..? It's a lease car, though we pay for consumables, so don't want to break any rules but don't want to pay through the nose either? Thanks |

I haven't had to change the pads on my wife's X3 yet, however, my understanding is that if you need new pads, the indicator light will tell you that the pads are low (this is a consumable item, which will need to be replaced at the time of servicing the pads). You may have a service light, which indicates that the pads need to be checked, but that's different. You may also be seeing a light because you need to replace your brake fluid.
