50 quid a pair, should take 30 - 45 mins a pair to fit

Matt, with the snap in cradle I can hold a phone conversation for the entire 30 minute commute home, whereas, without the phone docked will lose complete signal 3-4 times - might be worth a try for you + I never charge phone outside car these days (my phone is a bb bold)

That's good to know Bimmer. I don't use mine enough but it's always in the cradle and reception is always good. For me this doesn't prove it's actually boosting the signal but it could be and your experience is reassuring.

I don't believe the blackberry bold has an external antenna connection, so how can it boost the signal ????? Perhaps someone can explain what connections are made to the BB Bold, I believe it just two power prongs...

There is no physical aerial connection but it can still boost the signal by having an aerial connection in close proximity. I assume the physics is similar to the effect of holding a wire close to a FM radio aerial. It doesn't have to touch the aerial to improve the signal. See this link for some wacky ways to boost a mobile phone signal

Many congrats
Well I got a cracking discount from 1st dealers which is why I suspect they tried their best to make me cancel it given the demand. Lets call the purchase price X. My part ex was a 120D M Sport which was worth enough to pay off the finance, however it did mean not paying Y per month any more. The amount I finally managed to sell the 1st X3 for after tarting it around the dealers is Z. Incidently, there was a £5k difference between the offers I received, Sytners being the lowest offer .

It finally worked out at Z = X-(Y*4), hence zero cost to me.

New one is the same 2.0D but with added SSW,Pro Nav & 6NR.

New review thread coming up, it's staggering how different the two 'identical' cars are.

Thanks for that.

I have 2 phones, the iPhone 4 which is my private one, I don't see the point in having the cradle since it would involve removing the bumper each time, and they don't last so well if you do that.

The BlackBerry torch.. don't think they do a cradle for that..

Finally.. I think the price they charge for the cradles is a bit steep for what you get really.. £150 or thereabouts for the iPhone one is more than I paid for the phone.

Got the registration today, collection on Wednesday 28th. Tried to order the mud flaps as well but they don't have them for the MSport only SE, very strange. Anyway, looks like a few sleepless nights until next week. 7 day insurance and train to Solihull booked along with the days holiday from work. 6 days and counting.

Finally got "the call" today. Car is here in the UK and will be delivered on Fri 30th. Got to compliment Park Lane BMW on their forecasting as they were predicting 7th October right from the point that the order was placed at the start of the year and they'll actually be delivering to me a week early.
