Leaking sunroof drain
My Drivers front floor area is getting wet. I had taken into BMW service center earlier in Nov 2017 for the same issue and they had unclogged the sunroof drain. I am not sure why this problem is repeating again in such a short time and I need to pay 300$ for them to check on it. Is there something else they should be checking. Also is it ok to have this checked out any other local auto maintenance place or is it preferred to be done by BMW service center ?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you ! |

My issue with the same symptoms was that the connection pipe in the A pillar had become disconnected so the water draining from the sunroof drained down the A pillar and into the drivers footwell. Dealer removed the A pillar panel and re-connected the pipe. You can test by pouring a small amount of water into the sunroof drain hole and see if it flows into the footwell. If all connected okay, it should drain out just behind the front wheel.
