Honestly, the owner of this car seems sorta anal and thinks he’s a snowflake.

If the cracked rim is REALLY at fault of the service tech, then yea, that sucks. The rest isn’t that big of a deal.

Do these people think that their cars are worked on by surgical techs in a sterile environment? Lol, good luck with that.

They took a customer car to get ice cream. Then they spilled it. They weren't smart enough to at least clean it up and cover their tracks. They are not that smart IMHO.

Thats impossible. Also the displayed speed on the gps has a lag compared to the driving (5sec or so), so maybe thats why the owner thought that they drove over the speedbump/into the mb parking lot at 50kph.
But they dont.

But yes the mechanics are morons. Because they get paid shit.
When you up the mechanics salary to 100k/year, you can get engineers with proper manners.

That was probably the most tame road test I’ve seen, slowly around the block to a Wendy’s. Techs take customer cars to get lunch everyday. Dirty cup holder noted, but I don’t see fraud. Car was probably in for A service, which is pretty much oil change & filters, 11 min sounds about right.

Sure, I get that. If I was a tech, I’d probably be more mindful. But the point is you can’t expect that from low wage employees. I realize that that is the sad reality of the world, it just doesn't have to be that way. It used to be that low wage employees worked extra hard to get promoted out of that low wage job. Standards have been lowered along with expectations, and that is sad. I'd get pretty pissed over ice cream in my car because I have the decency to not do that to someone else's' car, be it a $10k used Honda or a $180k Mercedes. It's just plain dumb. Maybe the cause and effect relationship between this guy's incompetence and his low wage employment isn't as complicated as we think.

Someone I know who is quite successful and intelligent with an economics and computer degree said to me ‘capitalism is just people scamming one another’ it was in context to some other conversation, but there is a grain of truth to it.

I did watch the video. I just don't see the need to post it on youtube in what can only be an attempt to publicly shame the dealership for no good reason. Sorry, but working for chump change and “being held accountable” to the unrealistic degree some of you expect is just not feasible. Again, I’d be so on board if the techs did something like donuts or dangerous driving with the customer’s car. But it’s not THAT big of a deal.

You know doctors blast music and probably gossip about patients under anesthesia during surgery? Should they be held accountable for that?

Some cops I know use tax payer money to take 2-3 hour lunches. Is that a big deal too?

Like another reply mentioned, bring this up to the dealership manager if anything. Blasting it on YouTube and social media is a bit excessive and bad taste. Put yourself in a dealerships perspective (or any business that has many employees). Do you think it’s fun to have a social backlash over a couple of your lower level employees being caught on camera for just getting ice cream in a customers car? This wouldn’t make it on the local news because of how insignificant it is. Hell, if I were the dealership, I’d look into legal action for having a camera in the car essentially spying on their employees. The owner of this car isn’t entitled to run vigilante audits on this dealership, and then turn around and sully their reputation over something as minuscule as this.

Anyone saying they don’t slack a tiny amount on the job is lying through their teeth. And if we ran witch hunts every time someone did something slightly unethical on the job, most of us would be unemployed.
