Installed European Headlight Switch

The European Headlight Switch that I ordered back in Dec. finally came in. It transforms the lights in the tail gate to work on a button in the light switch. They now have a usable function. I thought it was a waste to have them come on only when the ABS brake system engaged in a panic stop. It took a while to get the switch delivered but I am very happy I got it. Got it from "ECS Tuning" for $149 with free shipping. A bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. Took about two minutes to install, very easy. I recommend it.

I can't seem to upload pictures. It is telling me they are too big and I don't know how to make them smaller. SO, if you go to the website of ECS Tuning they have a good instruction page that shows just how easy it is to install the switch with a good picture of the switch. When the fog lights are on they are bright like a brake light.

I also have the switch. I use it when it's raining hard out and if people follow me too closely at night. I need to get the reverse lights in led that doesn't produce any error codes. If you know any good ones please provide the link. Thanks!

I think it can be done without buying the Euro switch. The only difference will be that the button that does not work prior to the mod will not have any icon on it - will be still plain black (not a big issue). Here's the DIY for a e9x, similar for the f25.

Actually, this DIY will not work for the F25, at least not mine with Xenon lights. The switch on my console does not have a dummy switch below the fog light switch like shown on the e9x. While there may be a cavity below the fog light switch, I would need to cut a hole in the existing F25 switch module, plus find a button to fill the hole. So the only way to go is to buy the Euro switch.

I don't, but my recollection from this coming up a few years back is that the part number is different for Xenon/non-Xenon. Double check.

By any chance does your Euro switch have two thumb wheels to the right of main rotary switch? BTW, my X3 has halogen headlights and arrived with a blank (not a fake button) in the lower left (where Euro rear fog light button would be).

I wonder if you can just wire it to the fog light switch and have it come one when you turn on the fog lights...
