Anti slip mat / fold out back protector for boot (Trunk)

Has anyone purchased this option from the dealer? Its the rubberised Mat for the back with fold out strip to protect the sill of the rear.

I noticed they also do a cover for the back (that you can sit on!) but I think that looks a bit rubbish

Not sure if it's the one you're looking at, but I have the anti-slip universal mat for the X3 and the X5, and they are good. A little expensive for what it is, but it is useful for protecting the cargo floor, rear bumper when loading/unloading, and provides a nice anit-slip surface.

I got the mat with the integral rubber fold out sectiom AND the clip on bumper protector for free from my dealer (I saved them delivering the car 170 miles).

The clip on protector is much better but it depends on your your use. I have a Retriever who has to clamber of the bumper.

Dirty dog wasn't as bad as it looks, the flash is the main culprit:

Now with the bumper protector down:

Here's how it looks underneath plus the flatpack box (all a bit flimsy but ok):

Here's the other type of bumper protector (wider and more robust) attached to the rear cargo hooks:

CliveM2, is the 'wider more robust' bumber cover OEM or 3rd party. I have only seen the 1st option in the F25 accessories brochure. I need to order for my lab next week.

Yes, it's attached close to the edge of the mat, there are 2 velcro strips close to the middle of the mat to which you can secure the cover underneath.

The the cover attached to the mat really isn't up a big dog sticking it's claws in. It's also a tad narrow.

With the more robust cover your need to align it, takes a couple of seconds. You'll need a mat too though.

Depends on what you need the mat for. I bought a thick rubber mat for a fiver from a sort of a Pound shop. If you need a perfectly fitting mat then you need the BMW one, if not there may be a cheaper alternative - though less neat.

I think the dealer might be ripping you off a bit here. When I got my car in April the rrp for the boot liner/bumper mat/foldale box was around £80 and he sold it to me for £55.

The £155 quoted to you seems wrong.

That little box actually comes in handy. It has indents on the bottom that match the bumps on the cargo mat so it actually stays in place. Not bad for storing stuff that you do not want rolling around.

This is the one I have in the X3 and X5. A good mat, versitile and universal fit. Easy to remove or move out of the way. I've been happy with them.
