Extended Warranty . . .expect to pay ???
So i'm sitting on the fence about the BMWFS extended warranty.
Nah not going into content of that ! . My only question is when ya sit down to negotiate the price. . For those that have bought from BMWFS.... What did you "actually" pay ? ? ? for month & yr program?? 72 mos & 75K platinum, gold, silver?? 72 mos & 100K everything is negotiable (hope) THX |

You can get the ext warranty at the time you buy the car new or you can get it later on if you like. The benefit of getting it when you first buy the car is you can roll it into the car loan/payment. the benefit of waiting is most people wont keep the car past the factory warranty time or they are not sure if they will so you can keep the money and invest in other opportunities. It all depends on the individual
"if" you want to get dialed in on a discount we blow those out to forum members everyday. Just call my finance guy Jim Martinez at 805-482-8878 let him know your vin and that your a forum member. (m-f 9am-4pm) there is mark up in those things and most dealers will even mark it up over on top of that mark up. So yes the price is negotiable. The warranties are pricey but def a must IMO with BMWs if you plan on keeping it past the factory warranty, things do get pricey

Would not buy anything today that I can't use for years from now.

However, I do know that BMW recently increased the pricing (roughly $500 increase) and now made it two-tier pricing depending on the mileage of the vehicle. Vehicles with under 20k miles have a cheaper price than vehicles over 20k. |

You don't have to get it from BMW in order to repair at BMW. I bought my 2013 535i with 45k miles. Right before 50k I got a third-party extended warranty that I got from the dealer. At 54k miles, my car started leaking some oil so I let the dealer fix it. They showed me the bill (I didn't have to pay it of course) and it was pretty much the cost of the warranty.
My third party warranty cost me about $2,000 less than the BMW one and did the exact same job. As for buying a warranty when you purchase the car, I would pass on that. |
