Silicone Glaze on Black Plastic Trim

While applying silicone glaze to my car, I wasn't careful enough not to get any on the dull black plastic trim. I didn't notice it until a few days later. I was hoping that when I washed the car, the light spots would wash off, but they didn't. I purchasaed some Mothers Back-to-Black, but would like your opinion before I use it. Is there something better to use?

I've cleaned up "over wax or polish" with alcohol and a toothbrush, then rinsed. I've used back to black in the past. It did ok, but it didn't seem to last very long and when it wore off the over wax was still there. I'm now using Meguiars Ultimate Protectant. I'm pleased with it, but I know other people have had success with other products.

Did the same on my car but from waxing it with Maguires Gold Class wax. The paint looks great, but it does leave nasty light marks on the black plastic. Tried various cleaners with very little or no effect. The Maguires really sticks (which makes it a good coating for paint, but not so good where it touches the black plastic. Finally tried Eagle 1 Trim Protector Gel. Completely removes or covers the "wax stains" and leaves a very nice satin finish on the black plastic. Not too shiny.

Haven't tried the Mother's product, but most of their waxes and polishes perform well.
Love the Eagle 1 Gel. It's easy to put on and easily wipes off the paint, since it's impossible to coat the plastic without getting something on the paint.

the secret is to use the back to black on the trim before you start to wax.

Then if any wax gets on the trim - it will easily wipe off.

I highly recommend Klasse wax. On a new car, you can get by with their sealant product and it won't affect the plastic trim one bit (does great on headlights and taillights too). It's a German product and uber-good.
