Sunroof - anyone seen one on an F25?

As this is on my option list, would appreciate any feedback. Not seen any images of a car with one yet. Thanks.

Not seen one in the flesh yet but I have ordered one (as part of the climate comfort package). Have seen a few images but could only find this one for you

I saw it in person but since the X3 I saw was still in transport mode (before PDI) it would not work. It has a cover that I really like and the controls are easy to access; the manual explains how to use it. It has many predefined positions (open, comfort, mid, etc.) or direct control for any position you like. I'm hoping for a test drive next week; if that happens, I'll take some pictures.

Interesting. Clearly this will cost some rear headroom but there seemed to be a fair bit of that. Photos would be great!

You can see it on the highlight on the website too and drag the mouse around for different angles. You can't make it open though

Usually for me, xenons beat the sunroof anytime. I want to see the road first and the sky second. This time, however, I chose to break the piggy bank. I am glad I cannot change my order any more or I'd keep adding forever...

Presume the front glass panel slides under the rear one so that both disappear when fully open? May be covered in the manual or maybe someone can try it / photograph it?

I guess itīs very nice if you are a rear seat passenger, but is it worth the extra money if you are a driver? (Have never had a sunroof thats why I ask)

I find it makes the interior of the cabin a bit more light and "airy", but not to the extent that I'd ever pay for it myself. On a second hand car, it's nice to have, but that's about it...

not a very scientific poll, but my friends who have sunroofs never use them 99.9% its closed. However i think its cool IMO.

I miss having a sunroof on my Golf and it is an option I wish I had paid for. It makes the car a lot brighter inside (especially with the larger sunroofs) and it's nice to be able to open it to freshen the inside of the car up rather than opening a window, which is generally noisier as well. Expensive but I went for it for these reasons.

Having had a convertible in the past a sunroof helps me feel less caged in. It saves power over using aircon in the summer and makes the cabin feel bright. You can also, err, see planes flying over thro it. You can see I want one again!

only draw back they reduce head height, tested one on an E70 X5 and E71 X6 and my head was touching the ceiling on normal seat height and had to reduce seat height to the lowest being 6'3". Without sunroof it was fine on normal seat height not sure the same effect on the F25 X3.

It helps spot police helicopters as well. In case you're out of rational "explanations" for the added expense...

That is interesting and I hadn't considered that. I will feedback on this when mine arrives because I am 6'3". Hopefully it's being (very carefully!) loaded onto a ship as I write this.....

On another negative sunroof point, I once got sunburnt down one side of my neck so be careful when it's fully open, even when it's overcast!
