What's this option?

Hi,

When I typed in my VIN to a configurator, it said I had:

544* CRUISE CONTROL WITH BRAKING FUNCTION*

Any idea what this is also, I saw that I have:

1CD* BRAKE ENERGY REGENERATION*

No idea what this is either.... Lastly, I seem to recall older BMW adverts mentioning the rain sensing brakes that would periodically slightly apply the brakes to dry them out. I've never noticed wet brakes on this car (unlike my Explorer) so is this still part of the system?

Cruise control with braking function is when you're in traffic, and it detects that traffic ahead of you is slowing, the cruise will automatically adapt and slow down the vehicle by braking

Brake energy regeneration is energy recapture when you brake, recycles the energy into the battery using the alternator (that's my understanding of it)

Anyone care to correct this in case I'm way off?

Cruise with brake function is exactly that

Simple cruise control will hold a speed and not let the vehicle drop below that set speed .. It will not retard the vehicle if the set speed is passed .. For instance going downhill

Speed with brake function does exactly that .. It maintains the set speed from going either above or below that set

Adaptive cruise control is the next level .. It will maintain set speed as speed with brake function does .. But it will also reduce the speed based on traffic conditions

Brake energy regen basically boosts the battery when braking
